Education
Urban Forest

The design of the new “Luigi Einaudi” Professional Institute in Lodi was conceived to create a building that is deeply connected with the surrounding urban fabric and landscape, highlighting the natural and anthropic patterns of the Lodi area, characterized by the presence of both land and water. Our vision was to conceive the school as a forest, a fertile ecosystem for learning, immersed in the natural and urban landscape. This new educational space was designed to offer cutting-edge teaching, closely integrated with nature and outdoor spaces.
Formally, the building’s footprint is presented as a crystallization of the organic forms surrounding the lot. The lowland forest served as our main inspiration for the architectural layout and the atmosphere we aimed to recreate within the teaching spaces. We designed a bright and open building, articulated through strong lines and height variations, creating spaces that are both welcoming and inspiring.
The idea of a school forest is not merely a metaphor but a tangible integration of nature and architecture. We want students to benefit from a learning environment that reflects the principles of sustainability and connection with nature, with expansive green areas that promote well-being and foster interaction. Outdoor spaces are an integral part of the educational journey, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and constant engagement with the surrounding landscape. Our project for the “Luigi Einaudi” Professional Institute in Lodi is, therefore, an invitation to explore new ways of learning, where architecture serves as a means to inspire and engage, harmoniously integrating the built environment with the natural and urban landscape of the Lodi area.
