Education
Urban Forest

The design for the new "Luigi Einaudi" Vocational Institute in Lodi was conceived with the aim of creating a building deeply connected with the surrounding urban fabric and landscape, highlighting the Lodi landscape with its natural and man-made patterns, characterized by the presence of land and water. Our vision was to conceive the school as a forest, a fertile ecosystem for learning, sandwiched between the natural and urban landscape. This new place of education was designed to offer cutting-edge teaching, strongly linked to the relationship with greenery and outdoor spaces.
Formally, the building's footprint is presented as a crystallization of the organic forms surrounding the lot. The lowland forest was our main source of inspiration for the architectural layout and for the atmosphere we wanted to recreate within the teaching spaces. We designed a bright and open building that is articulated in strong lines and height variations, creating spaces that are both welcoming and inspiring.
The idea of a school-forest is not just a metaphor, but a concrete integration of nature and architecture. We want students to benefit from a learning environment that reflects the principles of sustainability and connection with nature, with large green areas that promote well-being and interaction. Outdoor spaces are an integral part of the educational journey, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and constant contact with the surrounding landscape.
Our project for the "Luigi Einaudi" Vocational Institute in Lodi is therefore an invitation to explore new ways of learning, where architecture becomes a means to inspire and engage, harmoniously integrating the built environment with the natural and urban landscape of the Lodi area.
