Biography

Settanta7 is an architectural firm founded in 2009 by Daniele Rangone and Elena Rionda, which today has 13 partners and more than 130 collaborators distributed in five offices: Milan, Turin, Tirana, Lyon and Lisbon. The firm is distinguished by its young and creative energy, with a horizontal approach that encourages the contribution of each person in the team.

Since 2014, the adoption of BIM technology has enabled Settanta7 to design in an agile and collaborative way while reducing economic and environmental impact, creating innovative architecture that reduces its CO2 footprint through the adoption of environmentally friendly materials. In fact, the firm has numerous projects in Italy and abroad to its credit, always with the goal of creating spaces that leave a positive impact in the world.
Settanta7 promotes inclusive and accessible architecture, respecting people’s diverse needs and encouraging social interaction. The horizontal organization and decision-making freedom of the teams enable the firm to successfully meet the challenges of innovation and change, sharing its experiences at numerous conferences and conventions throughout Europe.
Settanta7 has won numerous awards – national and international – such as The Plan Award, Big See and OICE, which testify to its commitment.

Major projects include the School Citadel in Castel Volturno, the Music Forest in Milan, the Engineering Hub at the University of Padua and the former Scalo Ravone in Bologna.

Today, thanks to its continued success in implementing relevant projects, participation in numerous national and European conferences, and collaboration with more than 130 professionals from 12 countries, Seventy7 is recognized as one of the most influential architectural firms nationally and internationally.

Mission

2008

The Roots and the Initial Vision
Elena Rionda and Daniele Rangone, after years of in-depth study and numerous shared projects at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Turin, decided to embark on a common professional path. Their vision is a different reality, characterized by a horizontal approach and total operational freedom for each team member.

The first step in making their vision a reality came on the day they decided to get noticed: Elena and Daniele sent a letter, handwritten, to every municipality in Piedmont with a population of less than 20,000 offering advice on obtaining community funds dedicated to school construction.

2009

The Founding of the Firm
and Early Successes
In 2009, after winning two integrated contracts in the municipalities of Molare and Porte, Elena Rionda and Daniele Rangone decided to make the creation of an associated firm official.
Thus Seventy7 was born, a name that recalls the two founders' year of birth.

2010

The Beginning of Growth
In 2010, the firm opened its first office in Turin and won a competition to build a school in Val Grana, the first public wooden building in Piedmont, marking an important milestone in the firm's growth.

2011-2013

Consolidation and Expansion
Between 2011 and 2013, Seventy7 expanded its activities, continuing to participate in and win integrated contracts, progressively expanding its operations beyond Piedmont, in a process of consolidation that saw the team gain increasing visibility.

2015

Opening to New Markets
In 2015, it inaugurated its operational office in Milan, a key strategic step in responding to the needs of projects outside northwestern Italy.
The firm also invests in the acquisition of new projects, with a long-term vision guiding its growth.

2018

Internationalization, A New Approach and Corporate Culture.
In 2018, it takes an important step toward internationalization, opening its first foreign office in Lyon, France.
The same year, the team's internal organization is revamped, resulting in a more dynamic and specialized operational structure capable of responding more effectively to the challenges of the global market.

Adopts an innovative approach, inspired by technology startup models, placing a strong emphasis on dynamic growth and constant updating of operational processes. The corporate culture is based on values of concreteness, impact and work-life balance, creating an environment that fosters employees' well-being and professional growth.

2021

Board Creation and Internal Development
In 2021, the co-founders select eleven key collaborators, creating an internal board that fosters an increasingly horizontal and participatory management model, creating an environment of greater sharing and accountability within the firm.

2022

International Expansion and Recognition
In 2022, it further expands its presence in Europe, opening new offices in Tirana and Lisbon within six months.
The same year, the firm wins the international competition to design Il Bosco della Musica in Rogoredo, the second home of the Conservatorio di Musica G. Verdi of Milan.

Between 2022 and 2023, the studio wins 8 schools in the FUTURA competition: the first studio in Italy for PNRR projects won.
It also wins the competition for the A Ciambra social housing project in Gioia Tauro, in the province of Vibo Valentia.

2024

Exponential Growth and New Ambitions
In 2024, start construction sites for NRP-funded school buildings, with projects in Castel Volturno, Castel Maggiore, Belluno, Pavullo nel Frignano, Bari, Lodi, Fermo, and Afragola.

In July of that year, the firm received three OICE awards: "Project of the Year" for the New School Citadel in Castel Volturno, "Woodwork Projects" for the Negrelli-Forcellini High School in Feltre, and "CEO of the Year" for Elena Rionda, co-founder of Settanta7.

In September, the firm unveils a new brand identity, symbolizingSeventy7's evolution and international expansion.

On Oct. 24, at its new headquarters in Milan, it launches the COSMO Senior Residence project, an innovative housing concept-patented at the European level-that redefines space and time in senior living.
