The N. Sauro Primary School reconstruction project in Brugnera represents a major transformation for the local community. This new elementary school will be built following the partial demolition of the current school complex, demolishing the most vulnerable parts revealed by the seismic vulnerability analysis. Our goal is to create a new school complex that not only meets the needs of innovative education, but also complies with the design paradigms for an NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) complex.
The concept of the building is reminiscent of a marine environment, with large openings evoking the shape of a fish emerging from the sea. These large windows provide a significant visual impact for students, inviting them to enter a "big blue sea," a metaphor carefully chosen to stimulate the imagination and curiosity of young people. The structure was made of XLAM, a choice that not only ensures strength and sustainability, but also allows for bright and welcoming spaces.
The sheet metal cladding of the wooden structure is bright blue, a color chosen for its vibrancy and ability to instill energy and positivity. The harmonious lines of the four main openings help illuminate the common spaces within the building, creating a stimulating and welcoming environment for learning.
With this project, we are giving back to the Brugnera community a state-of-the-art, safe and functional school building, capable of meeting modern educational needs and offering bright and pleasant outdoor spaces.
