The project for the new "Cardinal Agostini" school complex in San Martino di Lupari stems from the need to expand and upgrade the existing secondary school, which is now undersized and unsuitable for contemporary teaching needs.
The new building, developed on three above-ground floors, fits into the inner courtyard of the same lot where the existing school stands. The shape of the building is nearly rectangular, with all corners rounded off, a design choice that allows for greater permeability and connection within the lot, facilitating circulation and integration of spaces.
In terms of construction, the entire building envelope consists of double metal-clad panels with mineral wool insulation, a solution that ensures high thermal and acoustic performance. The project is further enhanced by a sunshade system with vertical louvers, made of prepainted aluminum sheet in bright colors, which not only contributes to the building's energy efficiency but also gives it a distinctive and vibrant visual identity.
The school complex was conceived as an example of environmental sustainability, with the goal of achieving nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) building classification and obtaining LEED© Gold certification. These high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability were the focus of our design, with the intention of creating a state-of-the-art educational environment that is both environmentally friendly.
In summary, the new "Cardinal Agostini" school complex is not only a response to the current needs of the San Martino di Lupari community, but also represents a concrete commitment to a more sustainable future and quality education.
