Press Visit Re_start Scampia

In Scampia, the focus is on those who live within the architecture.
Last week, we toured the Restart Scampia construction site alongside the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, the Campania Regional Councillor for Housing Policy, Solicitor Claudia Pecoraro, Deputy Mayor Laura Lieto and the Scampia Residents’ Committee.
Under the guidance of architect Daniele Rangone, CVO and co-founder of Settanta7, and engineer Emanuele Di Palo, CEO of Piloda Group, we then provided a close-up look at the design choices and the process that led to the construction of the new housing.
The project emerged from a co-design process involving the Vele di Scampia Residents’ Committee and local institutions. Listening to those who know these spaces and live in them every day enabled us to go further and transform their wishes and needs into design decisions.
From the very beginning, we have worked with a clear understanding: that designing homes with people means contributing to a broader process of urban and social regeneration, which brings new infrastructure and services to the neighbourhood.
A series of initiatives designed to improve daily life in Scampia, with better connections and new spaces to enjoy, starting with those who live in the neighbourhood.
