The design for the new secondary school in Pavullo del Frignano stems from the harmonious integration of architecture and landscape. The building blends into the hillside, becoming an integral part of the local topography and creating a fresh and reassuring image for the community. In this case, the architecture itself becomes ‘landscape’, merging with the surrounding natural environment and enhancing the open spaces that make it up.
The project has been developed as a single, unified whole, divided into four distinct subsystems, each of which contributes to creating a cohesive and functional environment. The solid walls are constructed from highly durable and insulating materials, ensuring excellent thermal performance and optimal indoor comfort for pupils and school staff.
The project aims to create a school that is not only a place of learning but also a focal point for the entire community of Pavullo del Frignano. The new secondary school thus stands as an element in harmony with the local area, respecting and enhancing the local landscape, and offering pupils a peaceful and stimulating learning environment, in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature.
